Top Halloween Costumes for 2012

The top Halloween costumes for 2012 have been predicted. We can expect to see masks of the presidential candidates, Batman, plenty of  Zombies, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga and a pregnant Snookie (…seriously??!).  But below are my personal favorite choices because they are new, fresh, creative and can be pushed to the limits if you dare!

1. Katniss Everdeen   Myself, I would much rather dress as one of the rich folks in Hunger Games with the extravagant costumes, colors, hair and makeup (don’t even get me started at how much of a dream the costume design for that movie was!!) But Katniss seems to be pulling through as the character to emulate, and her ensemble is much easier to find/create. All you need are some skinny cargo pants, a thin jacket a set of bow and arrows. And of course that signature braid!

2. 50 Shades of Grey   I have never read any of the books (gasp! I know…) but I certainly know all about them.  I love this influence on a costume because its great for couples, sexy if a women decides to dress as Christian and can be as simply or as risk-ay as you desire. Incorporate a silver tie, mask and handcuffs into whatever you are wearing- preferably something leather or lingerie, just because- and your good to go!

3. Psy- Gangnam Style   Grab a suit or tux; your own or hit up a thrift store for that powder blue number, dark shades and a serious face and then party Gangnam style. *dance moves optional but are a MAJOR plus!

4. Honey Boo Boo   I cant believe I am actually routing for this costume…But it could be really funny!

5. Pinterest Board   Super cute and easy DIY costume! Wear a white tee and smack on some “boards” or pictures of your favorite things. Again, you can get really creative here…and really controversial if you desire! (think blackmail worthy pics of friends your celebrating with that night, those awful ‘shoppers in Walmart’ outfit pics, and so on!)

What will you dress up as for Halloween??
