Let The White Out

I busted out my white jeans the other day and it felt so good! It was the first day it had reached 70 degrees, the sun was shining, and I was in a white denim and wedges kind of mood. Didn’t put much thought into it.

A few days later I was talking to the teams at Boston Jean Company and Reggie B Productions about the lack of white jeans available to customers right now and someone brought up the fact that people were waiting for after Memorial Day to buy and wear them. Ooooooh, that old rule.

I don’t care much for rules in general, and I especially don’t like this one. “You can’t wear white after Labor Day“. Can’t?! A bit harsh, isn’t that? And completely outdated. Now I do agree that specific fabrics are seasonal, and combined with certain colors there are articles of clothing that can be deemed seasonal. Like the famous example of white linen– it is just not practical to wear a white linen suit in the middle of downtown Bostonin February. But that is mainly because you’d freeze! A white sweatshirt on the other hand? Absolutely. And not outrageous to see white linen on South Beach year round. There is a time and place for every color in your wardrobe, dictated not by old adages but by your environment, lifestyle… and most of all swagger. (Because that’s all you really need to pull off any type of fashion!)

So dont be restricted by old fashioned rules, let the white out as soon as you feel it and embrace it!

Need help searching for the perfect pair of white jeans? I suggest Boston Jean Company, Bloomingdales, or of course, a shopping trip with me!
