How to Find Sunglasses to Flatter your Face Shape
Summa, summa, summa time! And what is the one summer must have accessory?
SUNGLASSES!
Whether your at the beach or a cookout, walking or driving, protecting your eyes from the sun should be fashionable, not just functional!
Here are some tips for determining which shades best compliment your face shape:
~ Square/Angular Face
strong jawline, broad forehead and square chin
- Oval and round frames will help soften the prominent angles of your face
- Butterfly shaped glasses are also great and the extreme shape can be supported by strong, angular features.
- Glasses with temples that are center set or that connect at the top of the frame
~ Oval Face
long face, high forehead and cheekbones
- Most frame shapes work with oval faces.
- Square, rectangular and geometric shapes add angles and width, balancing the length of the face.
~ Round Face
full cheeks, round chin. Width and length are the same proportions.
- Look for Angular and geometric frames that sharpen facial features
- Rectangular and horizontal styles also help make the face appear longer and thinner
- Upswept frames draw attention to top of face, and glasses with temples that connect at the top of the frame add length
- Avoid adding extra width to your face with wraparound, frameless shades
~ Heart Shaped Face
Broad forehead and wide cheek bones that narrow to a small chin
- Soften a sharp chin with rounded frames
- Bottom-heavy frames will add width to the lower face
